Moss killing tennis court surfaces (Tenniscourtpainter)
Richard Bray is a tennis court painter who reports he has at last succeeded in finding the correct moss killer for tennis court surfaces. Tennis courts use a porous macadam which causes the moss to have it's spores within the grains of the macadam. To this end, if moss takes hold, the resultant effect is the macadam "grain" pops out and hence distressing of the court starts occurring.
Tennis court painting is a specialist form of work, and the accuracy of the washing process beforehand to remove all the moss, is essential.
In theory, the washing should hinder the return of the moss for 10 months. A moss killer is only required as a preventative thereafter.
